Le Lioran is a very family friendly resort at the heart of the Cantal, set at the foot of the highest mountain in this department - the Plomb du Cantal at 1850m - and has been a well kept secret by the French for most of its century of skiing (The resort celebrated its centenary in 2006).

This comfortable south-facing apartment has been recently refurbished and well equipped (including new: fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, cafetiere, kettle, crockery, pans, utensils, etc.). The lounge-diner has a new four seater sofa-bed which opens out easily to form a full size (140x200cm) comfortable double bed . There is also a chair which can be folded flat to form a single bed. It has a flatscreen TV & DVD player (with a small collection of DVDs).  Overnight the underfloor heating keeps you warm - but this can be supplemented with the simple but efficient electric wall heaters in each room if required.

The bedroom has a new full size double bed with a single bunk above it. Duvets (2 doubles, 2 singles) & pillows are supplied. Covers, sheets and towels are not provided but can be arranged for an additional charge.

The apartment has its own lockable ski cage in the communal ski store which is located just behind the apartment. Access to the pistes from the apartment is simply via the back lobby and the rear ground level doors (next to the two windows of the apartment in the photos). A short (2min!) ski down the piste and you are at the central area of the resort - the Prairie (see photo 11 and the left of photo 4) with acces to all the main lifts, nursery slopes, cable car to the peak, cafés & bars, shops (2 mini-marts; 4 ski hire, bakery etc) and 3 ski schools.

Prices for the apartment are per week (Saturday pm to Saturday am) and do not include €200 security deposit

Notes on pricings

Typically the pricing for "sole use" chalets are quoted based on the cost of renting the whole chalet, whilst large ski chalets that are not for sole use will usually quote their prices per person, based on 2 people sharing a room. Please note that whilst every effort has been made to accurately display the owners rental rates, mistakes do happen, and rates can be subject to change by the owner. Therefore these rates should be taken as a guide only. Final costing should be agreed and confirmed with the chalet owners direct.

Getting There

Approx 7 hours from Calais

Trains from Paris to Clermont Ferrand or Brive then change for train to Le Lioran

Fly to Limoges (Ryanair/Flybe) or Rodez (Ryanair) then 2.5 hours or 2 hours by road

The Building has a reserved parking area for the 23 apartments opposite its entrance, which is at the top floor; this apartment is at level -3.
