Additional information

Jungwald is a new apartment located in an enviable position at the top of Saas Fee. On three floors, the apartment is spacious (140 m2), and airy and offers fabulous views across the village to the Mittaghorn peak. It is located 150m from the nursery slopes and the Leeboden drag-lift.

The apartment is on three levels. On the middle level there is a spacious living/dining room and kitchen. The living room offers comfortable seating, cable TV/DVD, CD/radio with mp3 connection and Wifi broadband. The dining table seats eight. The kitchen is fully equipped to a very high standard.

There are three comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the upper floor and features a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower and whirlpool bath. The second bedroom is also on the upper floor and features twin beds and en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom is on the middle floor and features twin beds; there is an adjoining shower room and toilet. All bedrooms have DVD players with cable TV also routed to the master bedroom.

The entrance is on the lowest level where there is a storeroom for skis and boots.

Notes on pricings

Typically the pricing for "sole use" chalets are quoted based on the cost of renting the whole chalet, whilst large ski chalets that are not for sole use will usually quote their prices per person, based on 2 people sharing a room. Please note that whilst every effort has been made to accurately display the owners rental rates, mistakes do happen, and rates can be subject to change by the owner. Therefore these rates should be taken as a guide only. Final costing should be agreed and confirmed with the chalet owners direct.

Getting There

The drive from Geneva takes a routine 2 ½ hours observing the speed limit of 120 kph on motorways and 100 kph through tunnels.

Upon leaving Geneva follow signs for Lausanne on the A1/E25. Upon approaching Lausanne look out for signs for Montreux/Simplon/Sion and the A9. The A9 is dual carriageway all the way to Sierre where you follow the single carriageway E62 with signs for Visp/Brig. As you approach Visp you will see a sign for Saas Fee on a roundabout where you will take the second exit (effectively left) which will take you through a long tunnel and then up onto the mountain roads leading to the Saas Fee/Zermatt junction. From this roundabout it is about 25km to Saas Fee and clearly signed.

An alternative road route, if driving from Northern Europe, is to take the A5 through Germany to Basel and then the E1/6 to take the Kandesteg/Goppenstein rail tunnel which brings you to the E26 at Gampel just 40km from Saas Fee. We do this drive from The Hague in an easy 11 hours.

If you prefer not to drive, the rail services from Geneva to Visp are very reliable and frequent taking around 2 ½ hours. From Visp take the Postbus from right outside the railway station to Saas Fee.

Saas Fee lies midway between Geneva and Milan. Most people choose to access Saas Fee from Geneva airport and the North avoiding the risk that the Simplon pass is closed by snow in winter. The Simplon pass is a spectacular route in summer.
