Welcome to Chalet Hay, a spacious 4 bedroom chalet in the heart of the Pyrenees and only a 10 minute drive from the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees, The Tourmalet.

Chalet Hay is a short transfer from local airports, only an hours drive from Pau airport or two hours from Toulouse airport making Chalet Hay a great week or weekend destination.

Where else could you enjoy the mountains in the morning, have a round of golf in the afternoon, enjoy a thermal spa in the early evening followed by some of the best gastronomy France has to offer!?!

Chalet Hay is a traditional style French mountain grange, over 400 years old and lovingly restored to a superb mountain retreat with wonderful views up and down the stunning Valley of Campan.

Notes on pricings

Typically the pricing for "sole use" chalets are quoted based on the cost of renting the whole chalet, whilst large ski chalets that are not for sole use will usually quote their prices per person, based on 2 people sharing a room. Please note that whilst every effort has been made to accurately display the owners rental rates, mistakes do happen, and rates can be subject to change by the owner. Therefore these rates should be taken as a guide only. Final costing should be agreed and confirmed with the chalet owners direct.

Getting There

Chalet Hay is located in the small French village of Gripp. Gripp is conveniently located only a 10 minute drive away from the Pyrenees largest ski resort La Mongie, 5 minutes away from the amenities of the small town Marie St Campan and only 20 minutes away from the spa town of Bagneres-de-Bigorre.

Driving to the Pyrenees is a great way of seeing France and there are plenty of roadside hotels should you wish to make a stopover en-route.

For good directions we suggest using the Via Michelin direction finder website.

Book through Rail Europe. Travel from London St Pancras to Lourdes for as cheap as £109 return if you book well in advance. Then just hire a car from Lourdes train station, again this is best booked in advance for the best rates. Then just a 40 minute drive to the chalet. Not only is this good for your carbon footprint, but it’s a great way to see the beautiful French countryside.

Cars can be hired from the airport, for best prices we advise booking in advance. All the usual operators are present and we use holidayextras for competitive prices. For car hire in the winter make sure you pre-order snow chains.
