Liptov is Slovakia’s top tourism destination – both in winter and summer. The largest ski resort in Slovakia, Jasná, is situated in the region, along with many smaller resorts.  The area is now being promoted as an up and coming ski region in it's own right.

The High Tatras mountain range is the highest in Eastern Europe.  These mountains create natural borders between Poland and Slovakia.  High Tatras and Low Tatras are fast becoming busy and popular skiing destinations.
